I hope you enjoyed my post over at Dollar Store Decor about the TOMS shoes glitter inspiration. Today I want to share with you a simple helpful shoe tip for toddlers…
Did you happen to notice the little red heart inside the shoes? Kind of looks silly but that simple little heart has been a tremendous help for Buttercup.
A typical day used to be “Mommy, are my shoes on right?” “Mommy please put my shoes on?” Mommy is this left one or right one?” She was continuously confused and took forever to put on her shoes or would trip over her shoes on the wrong feet!
She was CONFUSED!
???
Well fret no more, I found the solution…over at Pinterest, of course! Wish I could take full credit because this simple little fix has been a time saver for both of us!
I just drew the heart inside of the shoes, one half on the left side and one half on the right side.
Very easy.
Now she just puts the shoes side by side and knows they are correct when the heart fits together!
Why didn’t I think of that?!? (Seriously, why not 15 years ago when my first child was a toddler!) Would have made my life so much easier, just sayin’.
A Sharpie marker works just as well! My red Sharpie was running out and the nail polish had a touch of glitter so she got a little more excited and wanted me to do some more of her shoes!
Now with Glitter TOMS (shhhh-really Dollar Store TOMS wannabes) and her little shoe hearts she is now one happy camper!
Happy Treasure Hunting!

Great idea! I have a dyslexic daughter and we had to paint the nails on her left hand a different colour so she knew which way to turn for her driving test. ~ Maureen
So stinkin smart!
I did the same thing for my kids years ago but I put my marks on the outside soul of the shoes, your idea is much better, No one can see it and your mark was much easier to see because it is bigger.

Oh, that's awesome! I will definitely have to remember to do something like that for Jeffrey's shoes (okay, maybe not hearts. 🙂
