I LOVED working on this project! Based on the title, you see where this makeover is headed, right? I cannot help myself. The end table upcycles are so fun to make! I have so many more ideas in my head and I have to execute every one of them! They sell well too! Sooo… here’s how I turned an ugly upcycle end table into an adorable play kitchen for a little princess 😉
How To Upcycle End Table Into A Pink Play Kitchen
What you’ll need for this project:
White Chalk Paint | You’ll need this to paint the table | View on Amazon |
Crimson Acrilyc Paint | Mix it in with the white for a pale pink | View on Amazon |
Black & White Toile Print Fabric | To decorate your little kitchen | View on Amazon |
Lavatory Faucet | Every kitchen needs one of these: even a play kitchen! | View on Amazon |
Mirror Finish Bowl | Make your sink out of this | View on Amazon |
Kids Kitchen Utensils | Your little cook needs utensils to operate the kitchen | View on Amazon |
Here is the before.
I always stick with my “don’t buy anything more than $20” rule, and this little end table slid in right under, at $19.99.
You see … the wood finish was messed up and this type of table is a bit out of style so why not freshen it up a bit?
I started out by tracing my fire burners and cutting out the kitchen sink.
I mixed some Annie Sloan Old White Chalk Paint with some Waverly Crimson Chalk/Acrylic Paint (similar to this one) for the perfect shade of pink.
The Waverly black and white toile print fabric really sends it up a few notches on the cuteness factor!

…and those burners, hand-painted them myself – love!
My favorite is the little Peekaboo Lined Drawer that holds all of the utensils for every little chefs’ delights. I have an entire post showcasing my favorite Peekaboo Drawers because I think they are so fun!
Do you have a little chef in mind that would love this little pink play kitchen? I sure do!

I love all your little kitchens! I sooo wanna make some! There are so many old pieces of furniture out there that could be REused to make a little chef VERY happy!
OH. My. Goodness.
I saw the holes in it in the first picture, and thought, ummmmm…
But man! That turned out SO cute!!
Hmm, our play and living space over lap. This might've a good solution.
That came out fabulously! Any little kid would love to get it!
Tami,
This is so cute. For sure so much better than those plastic kitchens. I love it.
What a super idea! Where were you when my children and grandchildren were little? It's simply charming and the color theme is perfect for a little chef! Congrats on such a great makeover!
oooooo! Love this practical upcycle. What did you use for the burners?
