Red Shutters in the Entry Way

This was a quick and easy project and I love the way it turned out!
I have been drooling over this picture on my Pinterest Boards for quite some time.  I tracked it down to the original source via Clarendon Lane and have found myself going back to it again and again.

Now on to My Spin of the Pinterest Pin:
My friend found some shutters at a garage sale months ago for $2.50 and had big plans to make them into a headboard for her lake house.  Well, as time passed and she found another headboard that she fell in love with she decided to gift the shutters to me.
She had even started to paint them and stopped midway.
No worries, when I saw them I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them…paint them RED!
My favorite color red right now is Rust-oleum Painter’s Touch Ultra Cover
SATIN COLONIAL RED.
At first I was going to take them apart and flank my mirror like in the inspiration photo.
I then decided to just leave them as is and prop them up against our wall behind my console table..
I am pleased with how they turned out and love the flow of red in my entry way.

  2. Tami – Love the color, love the placement, love e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. about those shutters. Your inspiration was wonderful, but I definitely like your version best, with the shutters in back and the mirror in front. Cuteness! Stopping by from Marty's. Jane @Bluebird1959

  3. Tami, I love the shutters!!! They look beautiful in red behind the dark color of the console table. Very, very pretty! You have done an excellent job with these! I know it looks gorgeous when you open your front door and you see the red outside and indoors.

  6. Tami,
I am loving your shutters! The entryway looks kust beautiful with the red and black combo. That Satin Colonial Red is awesome – I did some chairs in that color and it is a spectular shade. I may have to get some again and soon. I am inspired!
I would love if you stopped by my linky party happening now to link up!

  7. Tami, your shutters look wonderful and so special! That color of red looks very close to the Williamsburg Palace Arms Red that we have on our shutters and "The Red Cabinet" on our screened porch. Love your ideas…all of them! Helen

  9. Love the shutters! I found this while trying to figure out if I should put a light coat of spray poly on some (really) old distressed shutters I found in our barn before I bring them in to hang (around two windows). There are a bunch of newer ones out there as well that I am going to try to use like you did…thanks!
